Indian artists to tour US for charity funds

Kolkata: In a bid to eradicate avoidable blindness by 2020 in the country, a trio of classical artists here will begin a multi-city tour of the US Feb 21 to raise funds for the initiative.

The act will bring together santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, Odissi dancer Sanchita Bhattacharya and Carnatic musician N. Ravikiran for performances in more than 15 cities across the US till Apr 6.

Vision 2020 is a global initiative for the elimination of avoidable blindness, a joint program me of the World Health Organization and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

Organized by Shankara Eye Foundation, the tour will witness an amalgamation of three unique classical forms.
