Is Queens Hain Hum heading for a closure, as its not notching up TRPs? It has been moved down from the 8 pm slot to 6.30 pm with a repeat at 11.30pm. The reason, however trotted out by the producers, is that the 6.30 slot is ideal for attracting small town viewers. Women in small towns are early watchers, so they will be exposed to content other than kitchen soaps and get to see the story of modern women in the city, whose stories they will be able to relate to. The 11.30 pm repeat will be a boon for urban audiences, who complained that at 8 pm with a repeat at 3pm they were missing out on the show. If this be true, it augurs well that despite the bold content, Queens has gained audience acceptance.

The primetime fronting drama series Queens Hain Hum revolves around five Delhi based ladies namely Maya Biyani, Tanya Tandon, Aakansha Bannerji Jha, Jhanvi Seth and Shreya Dixit Rathore. Best of friends, they love spending their ‘me time’ together, despite their different characteristics and lifestyles.

As has been the trend set by the channel &TV for out- of- the- box content, Queens Hain Hum kept in step. The Delhi based five women friends take their me-time to the edgy side of living it up with pool parties, vodka shots and champagne toasts. Unmasking their ordinary selves for their time out. Not the typical GEC family show, it created a lot of buzz among viewers.

The cool and sassy ladies - Beauty Queen Maya Biyani, Kitchen Queen Tanya Tandon, Jhansi Ki Rani Akanksha Banerjee Jha, Corporate Queen Jhanvi Seth and Bold Queen Shreya Dixit Rathore - share their secrets and shed all inhibitions. The plot and situations are as close to reality as possible. The saas-bahu conflicts are rooted in real life with familial issues like infertility; other than marital and saas- bahu strife, Jhanvi’s lesbian identity is unmasked. Queens Hain Hum has taken time to settle down with the viewers, because of its bold and new content, but now it seems to be coasting.

This is one more instance which bears out that the television industry is looking for a change in programming, hence production houses and channels are experimenting with new concepts and want to infuse freshness in content.

In this atmosphere of change, comes news that after decade one of Indian Television’s most watched sitcoms Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai is returning with a seven year leap. Though the original cast will be in place with the same quirky humour, the show will be missing a small screen appearance and will be cast as a web series. All set to welcome the second season of Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai, older audiences are wondering how they will watch their favourite show. They have till May to get tech savvy.
