Netflix is nearing a deal to add yet another Sundance title to its slate. The company is close to a pact for worldwide streaming rights to “Brahman Naman,” Variety has learned. The deal for the film will be in the low seven-figure range. The picture centers on a group of sex-starved young men who are members of their college quiz team in 1980s India. “Brahman Naman” follows the students as they drink excessively, lust after woman constantly and masturbate creatively, doing for refrigerators what “American Pie” did for baked goods. Beyond the sex jokes, the film also criticizes India’s caste system. “Brahman Naman” premiered on Sunday in Sundance’s world cinema dramatic competition to positive reviews. The cast includes Shashank Arora, TanmayDhanania, Chaitanya Varad and Vaiswath Shankar.
